This lot comprises two Royal Doulton fine bone china figurines from the Figure of the Year collection. Both pieces are hand-made and hand-decorated. The first figurine is Rebecca, HN 4041, the Figure of the Year for 1998, modelled by Valerie Annand. She is depicted in a voluminous gown with a blue bodice, a white and light blue skirt, and yellow floral clusters at the shoulders. The second figurine is Lauren, HN 3975, the Figure of the Year for 1999, modelled by Dominic Hughes. She is shown wearing a pink off-the-shoulder gown with blue edging and puffed sleeves, holding a pink and purple fan. Each figurine includes its original navy blue Royal Doulton box and a corresponding certificate of authenticity. The bases of both figurines bear full Royal Doulton factory marks in black, including the model name, HN number, and the modeller signature. The base of Rebecca includes a hand-painted black umbrella symbol, while the base of Lauren includes a hand-painted top hat symbol and red initials JE.
