A mid-century modern canteen coffee table constructed with teak veneers and solid hardwood components. The table features a low-profile design with a rectangular top divided into three panels. The central panel is hinged and opens via a metal support stay to reveal a fitted interior. The base is of sled construction with squared legs exhibiting prominent finger-jointing at the upper corners and a single bottom stretcher. The interior is lined with red velvet and contains a large suite of stainless steel flatware manufactured by Oneida Silversmiths Ltd in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. Documentation within the canteen includes Oneida Silversmiths and Community marks, alongside a guarantee referencing Ireland. The cutlery set includes dinner and dessert knives secured in the lid, plus forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons, teaspoons, and a three-piece carving set comprising a carving knife with a Damascene Edge label, a fork, and a sharpening steel.
