This lot comprises two English hand-painted glazed porcelain figurines depicting 18th-century interior scenes. The first figurine is a Royal Doulton piece titled Meditation, model number HN 2330, designed by Peggy Davies and first introduced circa 1971. It features a seated lady in a peach-coloured gown with a yellow floral-patterned skirt and white ruffled sleeves, seated at a green draped pedestal table. She is shown holding a quill pen over an open book next to a candlestick and inkwell. The base bears a green printed mark with a lion over a crown, Royal Doulton England Bone China, the title Meditation, HN 2330, COPR 1970, and several registration numbers including Rd No 947197 and Rd No 477/70. The second figurine was produced by Wedgwood and Co Ltd of Tunstall, England, titled Cello, model number 120. It depicts a gentleman in 18th-century costume, including a maroon coat with a green and white sash, seated and playing a cello with a small black and white spaniel dog at his feet. The underside of the base is marked with a unicorn head symbol, the company name Wedgwood and Co Ltd, England, the title Cello, and the number 120.
