A pair of vintage novelty bottle stoppers, comprising one hand-carved and painted wooden example and one hand-painted ceramic example. The wooden stopper is designed in a traditional Alpine style, featuring a male figure in a yellow jacket and black hat. This figure is articulated, with arms that move via a cord pull-string mechanism. The jacket is hand-inscribed with Sauze d’Oulx and Italy, identifying the piece as a souvenir from the Italian alpine village. The second stopper is formed as a ceramic bust of a man wearing a green and brown cap with a grey feather detail. Both figures are mounted onto tapered natural cork bases.
