A rectangular wooden joiner’s tool chest of traditional tote design, featuring a hinged lid and an internal lift-out wooden storage tray. The exterior is finished in a dark stain with iron hardware and a central leather carry handle. The chest contains a comprehensive collection of woodworking hand tools. Mounted within the lid are two full-sized hand saws. The first saw bears a brass medallion with a green enamel border, marked A Spear & Jackson Guaranteed Tool backed by 200 years sawmaking experience, Sheffield. The second saw features a brass medallion marked Disston U.S.A. with a keystone symbol. The contents include various measuring and marking instruments such as a wooden four-fold rule, two marking gauges, and a wooden-bodied spirit level with a brass faceplate. Boring tools consist of a traditional hand brace, an egg-beater style hand drill, and a variety of drill bits including auger, twist, and flat centre bits, some marked Made in England. Edged tools comprise multiple chisels with turned wooden handles and brass ferrules, along with assorted plane irons.
