A pair of landscape embroideries worked in multi-coloured threads on a neutral fabric support. One scene depicts a woodland interior featuring slender, white-barked trees amongst a dense carpet of blue and purple flowers. The second scene shows a grouping of taller, red-barked trees overlooking an undulating landscape of hills and low-lying shrubs. The needlework is executed with various stitches to create textural depth and an impressionistic effect, characteristic of mid-20th century decorative needlework. Both works are housed in matching giltwood frames featuring beaded inner borders and are glazed. No signatures, dates, or maker’s marks are visible.
