A Regency period mahogany storage box of rectangular form, dating from the early 19th century. The box features a hinged lid with a slightly overhanging edge and crossbanded borders. It is fitted with two cast brass lion-mask ring handles to the sides and a diamond-shaped inlaid escutcheon to the front. The interior is divided into two compartments by a single fixed wooden partition. The primary timber is mahogany, while the interior is constructed from a stained secondary wood. The unit is finished with a simple moulded base.
