Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £12

Estimated price: £15 - £25

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of marine natural history specimens comprising various large gastropod and bivalve shells along with a coral specimen. The lot includes a large Triton’s Trumpet shell (Charonia tritonis) showing significant natural weathering and mineral encrustation. There are several large Tun shells (Tonna species, likely Tonna galea) featuring characteristic thin walls and prominent spiral ribbing. The collection further contains a single large, heavy valve of a Giant Clam (Tridacna species) with undulating, layered growth margins. Also present is a polished Tiger Cowrie (Cypraea tigris) with dark brown mottling on a cream ground, and a specimen of branching coral (likely Acropora species). The items are unmounted and presented in a cardboard tray. A small white paper label is tucked behind the central specimens, though the text is not legible in the photographs.

Note: Prospective bidders should be aware that several species in this lot, specifically the Tridacna (Giant Clam) and the coral specimen, are subject to CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) regulations. These may require specific permits for international export or sale, and it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all relevant wildlife trade laws.
