This lot consists of a large-scale decorative sculpture after Michelangelo’s David and a collection of miscellaneous vintage toys. The sculpture is crafted from bonded marble, a composite of marble dust and resin, and is attributed to the Amilcare Santini workshop in Italy. The figure is depicted in the classic contrapposto pose, standing against a rear tree stump support and mounted on a substantial tiered rectangular plinth featuring a decorative band of shell or fan-shaped relief carvings. The rear of the sculpture bears an embossed circular mark reading A. SANTINI, REGISTERED, HAND MADE around a central logo of a rearing horse.
