A decorative wall plaque featuring a reproduction of a late 19th-century genre painting applied to a natural slate support. The subject matter depicts two young children, one standing and one seated, warming themselves before a brightly glowing fireplace. The image is rendered in a tonalist style with a warm palette of oranges and deep browns, finished with a thick, high-gloss resin or varnish that extends to the uneven edges of the stone. The slate panel is unframed, showing its natural rough-hewn texture around the periphery, and features two pre-drilled holes at the top for suspension. Faint, illegible reddish-brown markings are visible in the lower right corner.
