A Waltham Traveler half-hunter pocket watch featuring a gold-filled case. The manual wind mechanical movement is signed American Waltham, U.S.A. TRAVELER and bears the serial number 17454174, dating production to circa 1908-1909. The movement is constructed with blued steel screws and a compensated balance. The white enamel dial is set with black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position, and blued steel hands. The dial is signed Waltham U.S.A. The half-hunter case features an outer chapter ring with blue enamel Roman numerals around a central circular viewing aperture. The interior of the case back is marked ENGLISH MAKE / THIS CASE / GUARANTEED / TO WEAR / 10 YEARS and is stamped with the serial number 457102 and the number 14. This configuration suggests an American-manufactured movement housed in a British-made case for the United Kingdom market.
