A sterling silver commemorative goblet produced by Mappin & Webb to celebrate the Silver Wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh (1947-1972). The goblet features a V-shaped bowl engraved with a crown above the royal cypher EIIR. The conical, spreading base is engraved with the inscription Silver Wedding of The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh 1947-1972. The lower section of the base is struck with four hallmarks including the maker mark MNWB & for Mappin & Webb, a lion passant indicating sterling silver, a leopard head for the London assay office, and a lowercase cursive letter r for the year 1972.
