This artwork is a collage constructed from natural butterfly wings on an off-white paper ground. The composition depicts a stylized female figure in profile carrying a large vessel or bowl upon her head. The artist has utilised various species of butterfly wings, using their natural patterns and colours to define the figure’s garments, form, and the vessel. The palette includes shades of black, brown, vibrant yellow, orange, and pale green. The collage is set within a dark brown card mount and housed in a glazed dark wood frame featuring a narrow gold-toned inner border.
