A sterling silver paper knife manufactured by Francis Howard Ltd. of Sheffield. The piece is designed as a faithful replica of a Georgian meat skewer, featuring a long tapering blade with a rectangular cross-section and a circular ring pull handle. The upper section of the blade is struck with a full set of Sheffield hallmarks comprising the maker mark FH in a circular punch for Francis Howard Ltd., the crown assay office mark, the lion passant sterling silver standard mark, and the date letter B for 1976. The item is presented in its original red textured case with a cream satin-lined lid and a red velvet-lined base, accompanied by a printed descriptive slip explaining the historical context and hallmarks.
