A collection of banknotes and military vouchers primarily from the WWII and early post-war era. The group includes two 1 Livre notes issued by the Banque de Syrie et du Liban, both dated 1 September 1939. One is designated for Syria (SYRIE) with serial number 1JV 043,917, and the other is for Lebanon (LIBAN) with serial number 1DH 099,902. Both notes were printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson and Co Ltd, London. The lot contains a Bank of England Ten Shilling note featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, signed by Chief Cashier J.S. Fforde with serial number C43N 372533. Also included is a Government of Malta One Shilling note featuring King George VI, serial number A/2 851182. The collection features Allied Military Authority (Alliierte Militärbehörde) notes for Austria from the 1944 series in denominations of 1 Schilling and 5 Schilling. Additionally, there are several British Armed Forces Special Vouchers (BAFSV) in denominations of 6 Pence, 1 Shilling, and 3 Pence, issued by command of the Army Council.
