A trio of antique pharmaceutical storage jars, known as shop rounds, crafted from dark amber glass. These vessels were designed to protect light-sensitive chemical contents within a pharmacy or chemist’s shop. Each jar is fitted with a matching dark glass stopper featuring a ground glass joint and a rectangular tab-style finger grip. The jars feature hand-painted or stencilled gilt-yellow labels with black block lettering. The largest jar is inscribed Morphia Sulph above the word -Poison-, and features a small, partially illegible red paper label near the base which appears to show the numeric characters 150. The medium-sized jar is inscribed Atropia Sulphas across two lines with Poison at the bottom. The third jar is inscribed Morphia Tart. across two lines with Poison at the bottom. These items are consistent with British pharmaceutical fittings from the late Victorian or Edwardian periods.
