A set of six British pharmacy display bottles, also known as shop rounds, dating from the early 20th century. Each bottle is constructed from clear glass with a cylindrical body, a short neck featuring a ground-glass rim, and is fitted with a matching ground-glass spherical ball stopper. The bottles are decorated with shield-shaped vitrified glass labels, reverse-painted with a white field and black pharmaceutical inscriptions, enclosed within red and gold borders. The inscriptions are transcribed as follows: SPT: COCC: CACTI (Spiritus Cocci Cacti), SPT: CHLOROF: (Spiritus Chloroformi), TINCT: QUASSIÆ (Tinctura Quassiae), POT: IODID: (Potassii Iodidum), ACID: HYD:DIL: (Acidum Hydrochloricum Dilutum), and ACID: SULPH:DIL (Acidum Sulphuricum Dilutum). The base of each bottle features an embossed circular mark with the initials E, S, L, and W arranged around a central emblem depicting a bird or hand. Below the emblem is the text REGISTERED No 658990. This registration number corresponds to a British design registered in approximately 1916.
