An antique industrial carbide mining lamp, model Crestella, manufactured by The Premier Lamp and Engineering Co. Ltd. of Leeds, England. The lamp features a traditional vertical two-chamber construction with a steel body and a large circular metal reflector shield mounted behind a burner nozzle. It is fitted with a heavy-duty iron bail handle incorporating a suspension hook, with an additional secondary hook to the side. A circular brass identification plaque is riveted to the front of the body, depicting an owl emblem and the text: THE PREMIER LAMP MADE IN ENGLAND CRESTELLA ENGINEERING CO LTD LEEDS. The top of the unit includes a wing-nut valve for water regulation and a small circular filler cap.
