A pair of Victorian style lever-action nutcrackers, constructed from cast iron for bench mounting. Both items exhibit ornate casting featuring grapevine and leaf motifs along the base and upper lever arm. The larger of the two features a plain curved handle and deep serrated jaws. The smaller example has a decorative bulbous finial on the handle end. An incised mark of a six-pointed star is located on the interior lower jaw of the smaller nutcracker, containing faint and illegible characters. Both pieces incorporate mounting holes in the feet for securing to a work surface.
