A mid-20th-century modernist cast iron candlestick designed by Robert Welch, identified as the Hobart model. The piece features a characteristic architectural form, comprising a flat circular base rising to a central stem punctuated by three graduated horizontal disks. It is topped with a cylindrical candle cup. The item is constructed from cast iron with a heavy, textured finish and a matte black coating. The underside of the base retains a circular paper label which reads DESIGNED AND MADE BY ROBERT WELCH . CHIPPING CAMPDEN ENGLAND.
