A glazed earthenware candlestick holder modelled in the form of a twin-trunked palm tree, designed by the American company Sarsaparilla. The piece features two textured trunks finished in a mottled reddish-brown glaze, rising from a circular dark green base to a canopy of dark green fronds. A circular aperture is situated at the top of the crown, suitable for a candle or as a small bud vase. The underside is incised with the marks SARSAPARILLA W.N.Y., N.J. © 1985 JAPAN. It also retains a circular white paper label for Five and Dime Inc., a division of Sarsaparilla, West New York, New Jersey, dated 1986.
