A turned decorative vase by Peter Nelson, crafted from a natural Australian banksia seed pod. The vessel is formed with a tapered ovoid body rising to a slender neck that flares into a wide, funnel-shaped rim. The exterior surface is defined by the characteristic dark, oval-shaped seed follicles set within a textured, fibrous woody structure with a warm brown finish. The interior of the rim displays a smooth, turned surface with concentric grain patterns, while the flat base reveals the radial structure of the pod’s core. Hand-signed in black ink to the underside Peter Nelson.
