A sterling silver and blue guilloché enamel mounted glass dressing table jar. The clear glass body is of circular, bulbous form, featuring a deep hand-cut multi-point starburst pattern on the underside. The sterling silver lid is decorated with vibrant translucent blue enamel applied over an engine-turned ground consisting of concentric wavy radiating lines. It is topped with a plain, polished silver ball finial. The silver mount is struck with a full set of British hallmarks including the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the lowercase gothic letter r for the year 1916. A maker mark is present within a shaped cartouche but is significantly rubbed and illegible.
Gross weight of lid: approximately 50g.
