Royal Doulton character jug titled The Lawyer, model number D6498. The jug is modelled in the form of a lawyer wearing traditional eighteenth-century legal attire, including a grey powdered wig, a black coat, and a white bow-tie cravat. He is depicted with a characterful expression. The handle is shaped as a green feather quill pen. The back of the jug features the title The Lawyer in raised relief script. The base is marked with a circular printed backstamp featuring a crown surmounted by a lion, with the words MADE IN ENGLAND and ROYAL DOULTON surrounding a central interlocking D logo. Below this are the inscriptions The Lawyer, D. 6498, COPR 1958, DOULTON & CO LIMITED, Rd No 889569, Rd No 38225, Rd No 8035, and Rd No 424/58.
