This brass-cased marine bulkhead clock was produced by the nautical instrument maker P.F. Perry and Co. Ltd of West Hartlepool. The timepiece features a heavy circular solid brass case with a hinged front bezel and a bevelled glass pane. The cream-painted dial is inscribed with the maker’s name and location along with Made in England. The dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers, a rail-track minute ring, and a subsidiary seconds dial located below the twelve o’clock position. A regulation lever for slow/fast (S/F) adjustment is situated above the twelve o’clock marker. The clock is powered by a mechanical movement. The reverse of the case plate features hand-scratched inscriptions reading GRANTA and S.S. GRANTA, providing direct provenance to the 1928-built steamship collier. Included with the clock is an original small black-and-white photograph depicting the vessel at sea.
