A collection of British country walking sticks and thumb sticks featuring various hand-carved handles and natural wood shafts. Included is a walking stick with a hand-carved and painted pheasant head handle, showing a red face and white neck ring, mounted to a natural honeysuckle twist shaft with a pronounced spiral growth pattern. A further walking stick features a handle carved as a long-billed bird with an inset polished horn beak on a knotted wood shaft. Also present is a traditional thumb stick with a twin-tine deer antler fork handle and a polished brass ferrule, and a wood thumb stick with a natural V-shaped fork and a metal band incised with the characters P.S. The sticks are finished with metal ferrules at the base, including brass and aluminium types.
