This is a hand-woven contemporary wool kilim runner executed in the traditional Shahsavan tribal style. The rug utilizes a soumak extra-weft wrapping technique, resulting in a textured surface with visible floats on the reverse. The design features a central field of five large, nested geometric diamond medallions with stepped edges. The colour palette includes deep madder red, navy blue, and burnt orange, accented with contemporary bright pink and lime green highlights at the centre of each medallion. The field is enclosed by a wide ivory-ground border decorated with a repeating geometric lattice pattern, flanked by narrow guard borders with alternating hook motifs. The piece is constructed with wool yarns on a wool foundation.
