A mid-19th century Victorian Britannia metal teapot produced by J. Wolstenholme of Sheffield. The piece is designed in the Rococo Revival style, featuring a tapering octagonal body with lobed panels. It is supported by four ornate cast foliate-scrolled feet. The decorative spout is embellished with matching scrollwork, and the cast handle is ornamented with leaf motifs and contains two non-metallic heat insulators. The hinged lid is surmounted by an ebonised bun-shaped finial set within a cast foliate mount featuring acorn details. The base bears a circular stamped maker mark for J. Wolstenholme, Sheffield, which includes the word REGISTERED, a Victorian Diamond Registration (Kite) mark, the model number 1237, and a circled letter H.
