A contemporary cold cast bronze sculpture by Tosa, dated 1997. The piece depicts an entwined nude male and female couple in a passionate embrace, executed in a romantic realist style. The figures are closely intertwined with flowing drapery swirling around their lower legs, all set upon an integral octagonal plinth. The sculpture features a dark, uniform near-black patina with subtle lustrous highlights accentuating the anatomical musculature and form. The base includes a molded identification mark within a raised rectangular cartouche which reads Tosa copyright 1997. This item is produced from resin mixed with bronze powder, often referred to as cold cast bronze.
