A Moorcroft ‘Orchid’ pattern vase. This bulbous, short-necked earthenware vase features an Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau-inspired floral design. Vibrant, multi-colored blossoms and foliage in shades of red, pink, yellow, blue, and green are set against a deep cobalt blue ground, finished with a glossy glaze. The decoration employs tube-lining or raised outlines, creating individual cells for the colors and a slightly textured surface. The base is clearly marked ‘MOORCROFT’ and ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ in blue script.
