Auction 8th December - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables & More
A pair of antique 19th Century Japanese Imari porcelain vases. Each vase is decorated in an Imari-style palette featuring cobalt blue and iron-red/orange enamels against a white ground. The design consists of lobed cartouches depicting flowering trees and surrounding foliage, interspersed with panels of stylized leaves and branches. The shoulders are adorned with a deep blue band featuring circular motifs, and the bases are encircled by a wave-like or stylized floral border. Each vase has a wide mouth and a gently tapering cylindrical body. The underside of one vase reveals an unglazed foot rim and a plain, glazed recessed base, with no visible markings or signatures present.
