The smaller stool has a square top and four heavily turned legs without stretchers, finished in a dark, possibly black, paint or stain which shows significant distressing, wear, chips, and extensive finish loss, revealing lighter wood beneath. Both stools exhibit a rustic or primitive style, with the smaller piece suggesting an earlier period due to its form and heavy wear.
