A set of 46 volumes of The Works of Dennis Wheatley, distributed by Heron Books. These uniform hardcover books, likely from the late 20th century with illustrations copyrighted in 1973, are bound in red, possibly faux leather, with elaborate gold and silver-toned decorative tooling on the spines. The author, Dennis Wheatley, is prominently displayed on the spines, alongside various titles including “Desperate Measures, ” “The Fabulous Valley, ” “Uncharted Way, ” “Codeword-Golden Fleece, ” and “Unholy Crusade.” The volumes were published by arrangement with Hutchinson and Co. (Publishers) Ltd. and copyrighted by Brook-Richleau Ltd. Internal pages feature a dedication to military figures, including “Colonel H. N. Clarke” and individuals from the “2nd/1st City of London Brigade R.F.A. (T) from September 1914,” and include a frontispiece portrait by Mark Gerson with illustrations by J. O’Gara.
