A single framed vintage British railway travel poster for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) service, “The Coronation.” Research confirms this design dates to 1938 and is widely attributed to artist Frank H. Mason, whose partial signature is visible in the lower left. The poster depicts a streamlined LNER locomotive pulling a passenger train along a rugged coastline under a bright sky, advertising the East Coast route into Scotland. The lower margin features the text: “THE CORONATION” / “ON THE EAST COAST ENTERING SCOTLAND” / “IT’S QUICKER BY RAIL” and “FULL INFORMATION FROM ANY L-N-E-R OFFICE OR AGENCY.” The lower right margin is marked “PRINTED BY JORDISON AND CO LD LONDON AND MIDDLESBROUGH.” The poster is presented in a wide, simple wooden frame with a gold-toned finish.
