This four-piece Art Deco vanity set was manufactured by Bagley and Co of Knottingley, Yorkshire, circa 1930. The set, known as the Bedford pattern, is crafted from green uranium glass with a frosted satin finish achieved through acid-etching. The design features bold, geometric sunray and fan motifs with characteristic stepped bases. In natural light, the glass presents a soft mint green colour, while under ultraviolet light, it exhibits a strong neon green fluorescence. The set comprises a large rectangular tray with fan-shaped handles, a central lidded powder puff box with an angular finial, and two matching double-arm candlesticks. Unmarked, as is typical for these sets. Tray: 34cm x 24cm. Candlesticks: 14cm height.
