A single ceramic lidded box manufactured by Poole Pottery, England, attributed to the ‘Galaxy’ or ‘Lava Drip’ range. The cylindrical container and its slightly domed lid are finished in a dark, semi-matte glaze that displays subtle metallic iridescence. The decoration features irregular patches of highly textured, glossy reactive glaze in vivid shades of orange and crimson red, consistent with the ‘Volcano’ or ‘Lava Drip’ glaze technique. The interior of the box is coated in a uniform glossy black glaze. The base features impressed marks reading POOLE POTTERY, centered above a dolphin logo, and ENGLAND.
