This vintage chess set is of unattributed manufacture, featuring a design that draws inspiration from traditional 19th-century English patterns. The set comprises thirty-two pieces made from dense molded resin, coloured in cream and reddish-brown to simulate natural boxwood and rosewood. Each piece is designed with a distinctive multi-tiered, turned aesthetic. The folding board is crafted from wood with alternating light and dark squares, likely maple and walnut veneers, set into a solid frame with metal hinges. A matching solid wood storage box with a hinged lid is included for the pieces. No maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures were identified during inspection.
