A cast brass desktop model of a Supermarine Spitfire fighter aircraft, attributed to the Second World War period and executed in the trench art style. The model features the characteristic elliptical wings of the aircraft and a three-blade propeller secured to the nose by a single screw. The aircraft is mounted upon a fixed cylindrical metal stem, which is set into a flared, circular weighted base. The piece is constructed from cast brass, with the hollow interior of the base revealing the brighter yellow colour of the underlying metal. There are no visible manufacturer marks, labels, serial numbers, or inscriptions present on the object.
