An oil painting on canvas board by T. McArdle, depicting a coastal scene of Tynemouth. The composition features a foreground of dark, moss-covered rocks with white-capped waves crashing against them, rendered with visible impasto. In the mid-ground, the ruins of Prioy are situated atop a rugged cliffside. The background shows a grey sky with seagulls in flight and a harbour wall with two light beacons in the distance. The work is signed T. McArdle in the lower-left corner. The painting is presented in a stepped, ornate gilt-finished frame. The reverse of the canvas board bears a manufacturer stamp for Fredrix Since 1868.
