A large hand-painted cold-cast resin figure group from the James Herriot collection by Border Fine Arts, Scotland. Designed by artist Anne Wall and dated 1992, the composition depicts a traditional British agricultural scene of two farm labourers loading loose hay onto a flatbed cart. The cart is drawn by a dapple-grey Shire horse in full harness, accompanied by a small terrier dog at the horse’s feet. The group is set upon a highly textured, earth-coloured base and mounted on a shaped, dark-stained wooden plinth with a green felt underside. The base features the incised signature of the artist Anne Wall DC and the copyright mark © J. Herriot 1992. A gold foil label to the underside reads HAND MADE IN SCOTLAND BY Border FINE ARTS. This is a limited edition piece, individually numbered 1130 / 1500 in black ink to the base.
