A Border Fine Arts hand-painted cold-cast resin figurine titled ‘The Crossing’, model number B0013, designed by the artist Ray Ayres. The scene depicts a rural shepherd in traditional country attire, including a flat cap and green field jacket, holding a wooden crook. He is accompanied by two border collies herding a flock of five rams through a shallow, rocky stream, set against a backdrop of a dry stone wall. The entire group is mounted on a contoured, polished wooden base. The green felt underside of the base retains a gold foil label printed with BORDER FINE ARTS, B0013, THE CROSSING, HAND MADE IN SCOTLAND, and copyright 1996 EEGG Ltd. The rear of the resin base is incised with the limited edition number 1558/1750. A rock on the side of the base is signed AYRES and AR.
