A Border Fine Arts Society member gift figurine titled A Long Day Ahead, model number B0037 (SOC 9). The piece was sculpted by Anne Ayres and produced in Scotland in 1996. The hand-painted cold-cast resin figurine depicts two Border Collies, one seated and one lying down, positioned on a base designed to resemble a tiled floor. The scene includes a shepherd’s crook, a stone plinth with a draped jacket and flat cap, and a pair of walking boots. The figurine is mounted on a polished oval wooden plinth with a green felt underside. The front edge of the resin base features the impressed marks BFA SCOTLAND, Anne AYRES, and SOC 9. A circular gold label on the underside is marked Border Fine Arts Society, A Long Day Ahead, B0037, Hand Made in Scotland, and copyright 1996 EEGG Ltd.
