A Victorian style miniature or apprentice chest of drawers in the cottage pine tradition. The carcase is constructed from stained wood, possibly pine or fruitwood, featuring a moulded top and a projecting plinth base. The configuration consists of two short drawers over two long drawers. The drawers are assembled with plain butt joints rather than dovetailing. The drawer interiors are made of a lighter softwood with drawer bottoms finished in a dark red or maroon stain. The piece is fitted with turned wooden knobs. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are present on the base, back, or drawer interiors.
