This lot comprises three decorative objects. The primary item is a mid-20th century Chinese export jewellery box of rectangular form, constructed from dark-stained hardwood. The lid is inset with three oval, pierced, and carved pale celadon-coloured hardstone plaques featuring floral motifs. The box is embellished with engraved brass corner mounts, decorative side plates, and a large central latch plate with a traditional pin fastening. The interior is lined with red floral silk damask and contains padded compartments for jewellery. The second item is a small hexagonal lidded box decorated in the Khatam-kari or Sadeli style of micromosaic marquetry. The lid features a central eight-pointed star motif in red, black, and white, surrounded by geometric borders, while the sides are decorated with chevron and repeating patterns. The third item is a costume jewellery brooch depicting a prancing horse on a horizontal bar, finished in the Spanish Toledo damascene style with gold and silver-toned scrollwork against a black ground.
