A mid-century West German art pottery vase manufactured by Scheurich Keramik, featuring the Lora decor pattern. The earthenware vessel is of cylindrical form, tapering slightly towards the base with a stepped shoulder and a thick, rounded collar rim. The decoration comprises a heavily textured fat lava glaze with a speckled cream and brown volcanic base, over which a thick, glossy red drip glaze is applied in a jagged, flame-like pattern around the midsection. The interior is finished with a dark brown gloss glaze. The base is incised with the model number 549-21 and marked W. GERMANY.
