A contemporary raku studio art pottery sculptural vessel by the artist Andrew Niblett. The piece is of tapered ovoid form with a distinctive flattened top and a narrow horizontal slit on the upper shoulder. The vessel is finished with a matte, iridescent metallic fumed glaze, displaying a variegated spectrum of colours including copper, deep purple, turquoise, and cobalt blue against a dark charcoal, granular-textured ground. The piece stands on a small, integrated raised circular foot. The base features an impressed circular potter’s mark containing a stylised monogram, and a small circular vent hole indicates the piece is hollow-built.
