A collection of seventeen cylindrical earthenware canisters manufactured by Sandygate Pottery Ltd in Devon, England. The set is comprised of three large, five medium, and nine smaller jars, each fitted with a flat-topped wooden lid. The exterior of each canister is decorated with an all-over, dense paisley and floral transfer-printed pattern in autumnal tones of burnt orange, ochre, and dark brown over a cream-coloured ground. The bases feature a red circular backstamp with a central illustration of St. Michael slaying a dragon, surrounded by the words SANDYGATE POTTERY LTD and MADE IN DEVON ENGLAND.
