A collection of hand-carved wooden elephant figurines in various sizes and postures. The figures are primarily crafted from a dense, dark-coloured hardwood, identified as ebony, with one figure carved from a reddish-brown hardwood. The figurines feature inlaid eyes and tusks produced from a contrasting pale material, such as bone or celluloid. Several pieces include inlaid or painted white toenails. The carvings exhibit varying degrees of detail in the rendering of hide texture and musculature. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on any of the pieces.
