A late 20th-century sterling silver two-piece nurse’s belt buckle. The piece features an ornate, symmetrical openwork design with pierced foliate scrolls and fleur-de-lis motifs. The two halves join together via a central vertical bar that has been finished with a hammered texture. The reverse includes integral bars for belt attachment. This item bears a full set of hallmarks to the reverse, comprising the maker’s mark HK, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter y for the year 1998. An additional 925 purity mark is present. Matching partial hallmarks and 925 stamps are located on the reverse bars.
