A vintage four-sided box-style signal lantern of a type commonly used in railway or early motor transport applications. The lantern is constructed with a metal body featuring a textured brown painted finish. The front houses a prominent red bullseye-style Fresnel glass lens designed for light magnification. A small clear circular glass inspection window is set into one side. The upper section includes a cylindrical chimney with a domed ventilation cap. The lantern is fitted with a large overhead bail handle and a slotted mounting bracket to the rear. A small latch on the side allows access to the interior.
Height: approximately 30cm – 40cm (including handle).
